I'm using avira and I just backed-up my system. I plan to format my hard drive and before restoring it, I'd like to scan the backup file (.bkf) just to make sure that my pc's really really clean. Will it be able to detect if the backup file has viruses?

In the same sense, how about spyware, will antispyware tools detect spyware inside a backup file?

thanks
Good question! Did you scan the PC before you backed up? If you did, then the backup file should be clean anyway. I don't see any reason why the AV wouldn't pick up any nasties in the backup file though?
yes, antivirus systems will detects virus inside backupf ile. I advise you to go with AVG anti-virus it has been strong and pwerful anti-virus so for.
thanks!
