I personally feel that you should have a domain that has at least one good keyword and then something to make it catchy. However if this isn't possible or you really don't know what to do through together a couple of rhyming words. Rhyming is a great way for people to remember things. This is just a natural way for others to remember the site. For example I have a forum and I wanted something that was memorable and had only a few letters, so I chose rugjug.com. The reasoning for this was simple, it was different, and it was catchy because it rhymed. No one cared why I chose it, they just kept coming back. Another catchy, but non rhyming option is cityshag.com. Why did I choose it? Not for any reason other than it was memorable and short. We can remember things as a people easily, but only if it is short and has standard everyday words in it.
Many domain names nowadays mean absolutely nothing directly, but when the site grows in popularity you just know what the sites about. Take Google for example, does Google show that the site is about search engines? No. But its known so well Google automatically means searching the Web. So having a domain name thats unique but pronouncable is always good. Make it short and sweet!
