Has anyone actually tried out one of the Terabyte drives? I personally have considered it since I already have 4 hard drives all around 500 gig each, but I think it is about time that I upgrade to something bigger and better. Has anyone had any issues with them? Also, do they have any that run fast enough to make it efficient enough to warrant using such a large drive. It is one thing to have a massive drive that can hold everything but if it takes 10 times longer to access the information that you need is it really worth it?
Here at work we have one Maxtor 1TB External Ethernet Hard Drive $454 (link below) We had to have it replace once due to over heating. We could still recover the data from it. It would lose connection after 15-20 min. We have since moved it to a cooler location. It works very well for what it is used for. It acts just as another network drive like we have on our file server. Maxtor was very good with replacing it free of charge. I am very pleased with how it is working.
