The operators of the official Beijing 2008 Olympic Games website have removed an online flash game after a graphics designer said it was a rip-off of a game he had made two years earlier.
The organising committee for the Beijing Olympic Games (BOCOG) has yet to comment on the matter but the game was removed within an hour of queries by smh.com.au.

Cadin Batrack, a graphics designer from Brooklyn, New York, who created Snow Day in 2006, said he was shocked when his game recently appeared on the Beijing 2008 website with only minor cosmetic changes and without his permission.

On the Olympics site, the game's name was changed to Fuwa Fight The Winter Clouds.

Batrack also called into question other games on the site, which offer virtually identical gameplay to other flash games created before the Beijing 2008 site was launched.

"They downloaded the swf (Shockwave Flash) file from my site, decompiled it, swapped out the little guy for the Fuwa characters, took my name off of it and republished it as their own," Batrack wrote on his blog.

The Fuwa (Chinese for "good luck dolls") are the five official mascots of the Beijing 2008 games. They each represent one of the five Olympic rings.
