Vista is a Windows product

I believe Vista is a good choice for a new computer, but upgrading to Vista from say XP is frowned upon by many.
so you are saying vista is a good choice for a new computer?
Yeah Vista Is Good For A New Computer. Can We Know About Your PC's COnfiguration Then We Might Help You Even Better.

well..... i have not got it yet. i am going to be starting to build here soon. i am just figuring out all the stuff i need and what i want on it! so i dont know yet!
yeah go for windows vista... its good operating system. but if you are not going to utilixe it to full then dont ,xp can do almost all vista does that too with very much less ram usage
you guys havent heard of Linux ? specially Ubuntu ?
You need your computers RAM/memory as well as graphics card specifications to be quite top of the range nowadays for Vista to run smoothly. For Vista Home Premium you need a minimum of 1GB RAM (but some people complain its too slow on just a gig) so I recommend 2GB RAM + minimum 256MB graphics card (lower specs may work possibly).
well I do prefer and recommend others to go with the latest technology. Evenwhen it comes to the operating system , you can go with Vista installaiton on to your computer it is good in performance.
I built my new computer and decided to leave Windows XP Pro for Vista Business. I had 2 gig of RAM but I NEEDED 4 gig. You see, I like gaming and I like multi-tasking. I like the ability to open windows and applications at a comfortable speed. Vista ate 1 gig of my machine with no special apps running. Vista is pretty, but if I were buying a pre-built machine, I get out my old XP Pro CD and install that instead. Vista isn't for budget PCs by all means. Only if you are custom building a PC.
