i just got a new laptop with a dual core amd-xt 2.3 ghz processor and 4 gigs of ram. its running the vista 32-bit OS. Now heres my problem, whenever i run a game or program that demands performance, my ram usage never goes above 1.8 gigs and while one of my core's is running at peak efficiency, the second core just kinda sits there at maybe 40% to 50%. I have no idea why this is. any ideas? ive installed the amd optimizer but that doesnt seem to help me at all. It plays games from the year 2003 fine but anything that requires more horse power lags out the ying yang. turning graphics up or down doesnt seem to have any kind of effect either.
Is there a warranty on the laptop? If so, maybe take it in and get them to cheack it out,
yeah there is but i ordered it from a company out in california and i live in illinois. if there is a way to avoid having to send it to them just to take a look, thatd be way cooler for me.
