Choosing what scripting language to go with is like choosing the safest car to drive. It's pretty simple when you go and test a scripting language but it isn't as easy as that. Really, finding articles about what scripting language to choose, the main variety you'll find is PHP vs ASP(.NET). But, sometimes you'll find that a different scripting langage is your best choice rather than going for the best "favourability" in the world wide web - and that of course, is PHP.
If you know, ASP.NET is always used in the business sector, big organisations would virtually spend thousands on Websites made in ASP.NET. People get paid more for working with ASP.NET than PHP. Reason being is because ASP.NET costs more than PHP, so they have that excuse. Obviously Microsoft are the leader business for things for businesses, including operating systems, programming languages as well as software for their operating system; including Microsoft Office. All of these costs, but there are always alternatives. Take Sun Microsystems OpenOffice for example - that's completely free and it does pretty much the same as Microsoft Office, except a few differences in design and functionality. As well as operating systems, take Ubuntu for example - pretty basic but functional system, but obviously less supported for software compatibility. That's why many people have no choice but to resort to Microsoft products. This is why many businesses are losing money or going completely out of business.
But going back to programming languages, this is why going for free options isn't such a bad idea. This means people are more inclined to help you with problems you have, for PHP. Instead, people would charge you for problems you have with ASP.NET. Pretty simple cycle here isn't there?
Consider your options, and research!
