I just purchased my computer a few months ago. Installed an XP SP2, typical MS applications, WinDefender and Live OneCare. Problem with my XP SP2 disk, i can only install it on a blank hard drive. Em not really verse on computers that is why I went on a hunt for a forum site where i hope to address the issues of my computer freezing all the time then restarting suddenly. I tried checking other forum sites but all i got was fearful advises not to install any registry cleaner, or just use disk cleanup. Need some thorough advice on how to maintain my computer properly. I would like to uninstall most of other applications to lower the chance of having errors but it did more damage since freezing became more frequent even to the point that my screen just went blank on start up. i reinstalled my nvidia drivers and fixed that but still its freezes all the time. Hope anyone can help me. Im using Coreduo 2.2Ghz, 1G RAM, GE7200GS Nvidia, 80Gig HD.
Maybe back up your current drive then format and see if that helps. Or try adding another GB RAM. XP is pretty resource hungry.

If it isn't too late, get a hold of http://www.download.com/Trend-Micro-Hija...27353.html or http://www.technet.microsoft.com/en-us/s...6653.aspx. You should be able to clean your computer without formatting Smile
